Notepad

Notepad is a simple text editor for Microsoft Windows and a basic text-editing program which enables computer users to create documents. It has been included in all versions in Microsoft Windows since windows 1.0 in 1985.

It is a text editor, a very simple word processor, which allows working with multiple open files in a single window. The resulting files typically saved with the .txt extension. It is used to edit  wide range of file types including  .xml, .html etc.
